Thushara has gained his medical degree through the faculty of medicine, University of Colombo 2005. At the start of his carrier, he has been a medical officer of maternal and child health for the health service district in Sri Lanka. Since 2009 he has worked in various hospitals and health services in Queensland gaining further experience in internal medicine, surgery, intensive care, anesthetics, and emergency medicine. He served in the country hospitals in Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia as a rural generalist who provides both general practice services and VMO services to hospital patients.

​He has got a wealth of experience managing a vast number of general practice presentations including adult and adolescent mental health issues, men and women’s health, chronic disease management, dermatological conditions including skin cancer.

Family-oriented holistic care tailored to the individual using the latest advancement in medical knowledge is the theme that Dr.  Gallage is trying to achieve in his practice.
